The other “N-Word” … the term “NON-PROFIT” has become socially synonymous with terms like “beggars”, “wantrepreneurs”, and “pseudo businesses”. This intensive session is designed to assist organizations with removing the shame of asking by understanding, and then applying, the psychological nuances behind the social exchange of “give and take”. During this session participants will be provided with tools to develop a captivating story that creates a direct connection between the donors and the mission of the organization. Participants will also be provided with strategies that utilize psychology to remove social barriers that present themselves when asking for donations. Participants will receive training on how to Pitch to the Brain and Pitch to the Person; and know which to aim for and when.

Tevin Carr J.D. was awarded five out of the six grants he applied for, in just his first year of writing. He claims to have done this using his Boilerplate strategy for grant writing. This intensive session is designed to assist organizations in preparing for grant writing season. A boilerplate encourages organizations to rethink, revisit, and solidify their organizational profile by establishing a: mission, vision, service array, evolution, superlatives, stats, partnerships, connections, organizational structure, programs, and projects. In addition, a boilerplate equips an organization with the necessary information needed to complete 75% of all grant applications. Our boilerplate model allows most companies to reduce their grant writing expense and can potentially eliminate the need for a grant writer altogether.

This session will build the confidence and excitement of seasoned staff while reaffirming and expanding upon the ideas introduced by younger staff on how companies can use societies advance in technology to advance and scale fundraising in innovative ways.

Facilitators of this session will guide participants through activities and discussions intended to reveal personality traits and skill sets that will later be used to answer the four Ikigai life questions: What am I good at, what does the world need, what will I get paid for, and what do I love to do.  Transferring the illumination, one finds in their life’s purpose, to how they serve their organization will ultimately push the mission of the organization forward as well as give members a heightened sense of fulfillment.
