SEL & HIPHOP
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is a process of developing emotional intelligence, self-awareness, social-awareness, and responsible decision-making skills, which are crucial for mental health and well-being.
Hip-Hop is a genre of music and dance that originated in African-American and Latino communities in the United States and has become a global phenomenon. Hip-Hop music and lyrics often reflect social issues, personal struggles, and emotional experiences, making it an effective medium for teaching SEL skills.
